World Book Special

World Book happens once a year and this year its on 3rd march.Its aimed at all ages from little children that can only just read to the older Generations that have been reading for tens of years.On world book day schools are given world book tokens which takes £1 of a book they give to all of there pupils.

Every year thousands of events are organised in schools,bookshops, libraries and other places to celebrate World Book Day.The events can be from as small as a library sale to a famous author reading to thousands.

World Book Day UK began in 1998, launched by Prime Minster Tony Blair at The Globe Theater in London. Since then it has grown ever year.It encourages children to read and is a good charity and idea that should continue.


The £1 book tokens are all get you £1 off a book or audio book that cost £2.99.They are given to all children and they are there to celebrate reading and books. There is no other charity that does this in the UK or Ireland.
